About Toastmasters

From the first club started in a California YMCA in 1924, Toastmasters has spread throughout the world with over 364,000 members and over 16,200 clubs in 145 countries. This is non-profit  educational organization is a recognized leader in helping people become comfortable and confident when speaking in front of an audience, learning to speak in an impromptu manner and develop leadership skills. Members may be administrative assistants to CEOs of companies.

With seven clubs and over 100 members, Toastmasters has a strong presence in Amarillo. Each club has a different personality and flavor all its own. Visitors are always welcome at Toastmasters meetings.



About Toastmasters in Amarillo

Amarillo is home to a wide variety of Toastmasters clubs, ranging from clubs that have been around for over 70 years to clubs that have only existed for a couple.  We have people from their early twenties to people in their 70s that participate in the clubs.  Every year we have speech contests where each club sends forward their contestant to participate in Tall Tales contests, Speech Evaluation Contests, Table Topics Contests, and the International Speech Contest that gives individuals a chance to go all the way to the International Convention that happens every year in August.  Check out this video from the World Championship of public speaking.
